Performance Medicine
Nontraditional and questioning: Not a fan of the current landscape of health insurance and administrative policies dictating the medicine I practice.
Full transparency: providing you with the most recent literature and scientific evidence and the limitations thereof and how it does or does not apply to you, what the possible options and potential consequences are, and then you get to decide what you want to do.
Prevention, Precision, Performance.
Keeping you healthier and fitter for longer with the least medical interventions possible.
Inspirational athletes and trainers that I recommend:Tommy Rivs - Ultrarunner and Physical Therapist, diagnosed with aggressive cancer, now recovering
Sally McRae: Mountain and Ultra Trail runner, great for inexpensive training plans for running and supportive muscular fitness to keep you running for longer
John Peel: Former NFL turned personal trainer, excellent variety of short workout series for whole body fitness
Marcus Filly: Former CrossFit Athlete turned Functional Fitness Coach with his Persist Training plan and nutrition plan that comes in an app for ~$30/mo, I recommend his easy to follow very adjustable plans with great social and professional community attached to all my patients, regardless of your abilities, age or state of health.

Space, Military & Aviation Medicine
Understanding human physiology, medical countermeasures to environmental exposures, limitations and requirements of working and living in extreme environments with limited resources.
How can we do more with less?
Can we harness space/low gravity environments as a therapy for disorders without treatment, on earth?
Can we create fully autonomous medical chambers for space to treat astronauts in-situ?
At OSMED (Organization for Space Medicine, Engineering and Design) I currently help a great team of diverse international professionals to design the first pre-orbital hospital.
This is our chance for a do-over!

Genetics and Genomics
We know so very little about the human genome and its interactions with the environment.
Within Genetics, I have a particular interest in rare disease, environmental effects on health (epigenetics) and how to harness them as therapies, and the effects of space/different levels of gravity on our genome to identify countermeasures for disease on earth and in space.I work with TeleRare to use technology to increase access to genetic testing for patients who otherwise may fall through the cracks.

Health Tech
Creating and using Technology to further frontiers in medicine.
I am involved in multiple tech companies and also founded my own company zebraMD for rare and genomic disease.
I am also part of TeleRare, an EHR connected platform that increases access to Medical Genetics Services, and Biography Health, which enables Whole-Genome-based clinical precision medicine for anyone at scale.I am not interested in low hanging fruit - I am interested in ambitious moonshots.
